Terms

Use the data freely. Check it against the source before it matters.
§01

Using the data

The underlying figures are government releases and carry their own licences, listed per dataset on the licences page. Everything currently published is a work of the U.S. federal government and is in the public domain. You may reuse it, including commercially, without asking.

The exports include their provenance in the file. Keeping that intact when you republish costs nothing and is the whole point.

§02

What this site does not guarantee

  • Currency. Each figure shows its effective date. Agencies revise, and a revision may not have been ingested yet.
  • Completeness. A missing measure means the agency did not publish one, or it was suppressed for low case volume. It never means zero.
  • Fitness for a decision. These pages are a finding aid. For anything consequential — clinical, financial or legal — go to the linked source, which is on every page for exactly this reason.

No endorsement by any agency is implied. Reproducing a government figure is not a claim that the agency has reviewed or approved this site.

§03

Reporting an error

If a figure here disagrees with the source, the source wins and this site has a bug. Errors and their fixes are recorded on the corrections page.
